The repairs on our RV were done quickly, so had five days before our next reservation outside of New Orleans, so we decided to divide those days between Alabama and Mississippi.
In Alabama we stayed at a park outside of Mobile. We did a driving tour around the city, stopped at a vegan food truck, and also explored Dauphin Island. On Dauphin Island we visited Historic Fort Gaines and hiked around Shell Mound Park.
Our time in Mississippi was pretty insane, yet we survived! True had the flu (the rest of us stayed healthy), discovered the source of a major water leak (that we have been trying to figure out for months), met another full-time family who referred us to a great mobile RV tech that was able to help, outlived dozens of black vultures (who tore up our picnic tablecloth) and many lurking cats. On the upside, the kids did get to play on a big playground and we got out for two short nature walks.
